"These delightful pancakes, known as hotteok, hoddeok, hodduk, or ho-ttok, are a beloved street food in Korea, especially during the winter months. Traditionally filled with nuts and sugar, they get a unique Norwegian twist here with TINE® Brunost™ Caramel Cheese in the filling. Perfect as a dessert or whenever you're craving something sweet and delicious."
Here is how you do it
- Mix flour, salt, sugar, dry yeast, and milk to make a smooth dough. Let it rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and let it rise for another 20 minutes.
- Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, chopped almonds, and grated brown cheese for the filling.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface and divide it into small portions.
- Flatten each portion, add filling, and shape it into a ball.
- Heat a pan with butter, place the dough ball seam side down, and fry for 30 seconds. Flip and press flat with a spatula. Fry until golden on both sides.
- Serve the pancakes immediately.
